This is an awesome Gucci belt. It’s the iconic red and blue with a gold horse stirrup style buckle. 1990’s, Made in Italy.

A little backstory on Gucci, if you’re interested:
The designer company was founded by Guccio Gucci, the House of Gucci was founded in 1921. GG for Guccio Gucci. I always wondered where those two G’s came from since Gucci has two C’s. Now I know!
It was actually Aldo Gucci (Guccio’s son) who designed the GG Logo.
During WWII there were lots of restrictions on using leather so Gucci began making canvas bags with the GG logo and the iconic Red, Green, Red striped band and later the Red, Blue, Red striped. The bands were used as straps on the bags.
In the 70’s and 80’s the company went thru a really bad time and the company almost went down the drain, almost complete disaster due to Aldo Gucci’s tax evasion and the murder of Maurizo Gucci and the conviction of his wife for hiring assassins to murder her husband. They struggled on into the 90’s on the edge of bankruptcy when they decided to add new faces to their business, Dawn Mello and Tom Ford joined the team. Under their leadership they reduced inventory and moved the company from Milan back to its original roots in Florence.
Tom Ford left the company in 2004, but the Ford era is known as the most celebrated turnarounds in a brands history.
